Innovative flies (its exactly what we do)
This range spans the complete life cycle of the natural flies that the angler will encounter in the UK. meaning you could quite literally have a fly for all occasions.
The innovative range of flies is only available from Easthope flies, and are all tied personally by Myself. Often using the techniques I have developed and perfected,
I usually tie flies to order, meaning custom changes are easy to accommodate, although I also try to maintain minimum stock levels for my most popular patterns, meaning these are ready to deliver as soon as they are ordered, ideal for last minute fly box fill ups.
We have put together a perfect mix of our own flies to compliment different waters, times of year and species so when ever or where ever you choose to use them, you will have just what you need
Feather Post Parachute Flies
All the benefits of an Easties' Beastie, but with the high vis post that so many rely on when fishing in fast water or at distance
The Twin Hackled Easties' Fly is a true dry fly, the imitations are specific to upwing duns and each dun that emerges in the uk is repressented. Its prupose is to sit on the water just as a newly emerged dun would
Easties' detached body Flies
Mostly important for the larger natural flies that we look to imitate, as larger hooks can cause problems when playing fish.
These are used to replicate the of the emerger stage of upwings and sedge. they employ the postless hackle that is one of the techniques we use to make our flies different.
an extremely Unique techniqiue that gives us something new, far from being restricted to sedge this hackling technique can create imitations of virtually anything
sub surface flies
Nymphs are just as important to us as dry flies. our range of innovative nymphs, pupa and larvae. are designed with all the important triggers in mind to pressent to the fish exactly what they expect to see
Weighted nymphs
Simply adding weight to a fly can be the difference between a good day and a Great day so most of the subsurface flies we make are also available with options tyo add wieght, whether that is heavy eyes, beads or a lead free underbody
Quality fly tying products
The materials in this section are rarely what you expect to see. And some are made by us to be totally unique.
Cling wing is one such product, I wanted to use a product on my flies that was a direct replacement for dry fly hackles but something that was easier to float on the surface for long periods, and more realistic in its appearance, well there was nothing like that available, nor did any of the realistic wings use a material that had the properties i wanted. So Cling Wing was moved from the drawing board all the way to the final product we supply today. and its popularity proves that it was not just me that was waiting for a product like this to come along
far from aiming to be a "run of the mill" supplier of fly tying materials, we purposely step out of the comfort zone to provide materials that are unique, and the best quality available.
If we wont use it, we wont sell it, its that simple.
What we can tell you is we are as interested in the unusual as we are in the staple items and the range we carry reflects that.
Dont forget to check out the Simon Says section for inspiration on what some of these matrials can do
The Tying Room
The tying room is based on the same principles of quality flies, made using quality materials just like the innovative range section
The difference is that the tying room is populated by professional tiers who wish to showcase their own range of flies
The tier has provided a personal profile to introduce themselves and their tying style
When you select each profile you will be able to see the patterns they offer on this platform
Inspiration and Tuition
At Easthope flies our passion for fly tying extends well beyond providing quality individual flies. I have a busy calendar of shows and game fairs where I demonstrate fly tying skills to the general public. A list of these shows will be published soon on this site but are subject to change. I also release videos to demonstrate the techniques that I have personally developed. These videos can be found on Youtube on my channel Easthopeflies.
Due to multiple requests from people, I am also now offering the chance to learn from me in person.
I have secured a log cabin in Dereham which will be used for lessons. These can be either:
Group lessons . this is initially to take place on a Monday for beginners and Tuesdays for improvers, and the lessons will be for a 2 hour period between 6PM and 8PM.
Once a group session has six people signed up, I will close the sign up sheet and another evening will be made available for a new group of 6 at that level. The purpose of limiting the capacity of an evening to 6 is to make sure that everyone can get the most benefit, and that I am able to spend time with everyone. Whilst the expectation is that the same 6 people will regularly attend, there is no need for the classes to be at capacity every week. If even one person can attend, this will ensure the class goes ahead. As the fees for each session are collected on the evening, if you are unable to attend for any reason there will be nothing to pay.
The fees for the group sessions are £10 per evening and this will be inclusive of materials and equipment if needed.
Format. The intention for these Group sessions, is to be relaxed, enjoyable and informative. The beginner sessions will be structured with predetermined aims and outcomes for each session, and will follow a course program. I feel that this will give beginners the best foundation to go on and learn more complex skills. The format of the improver sessions will be slightly different, ensuring that those taking part enjoy more freedom to choose their own aims on a weekly basis.
There is no set criteria to join either group, and the session you choose is entirely your choice.
Individual Teaching.
I am also offering 1 to 1 lessons and this is the perfect solution for those wishing to have continuous, uninterrupted support throughout the lesson. 1 to 1 lessons will be 1 hour given the intensive nature, and dates/times are fully negotiable subject to availability.
The structure of these lessons is dependant on the individual student and is completely customisable to the skills you want to learn or improve.

going one step further we now also offer tuition days. these can be aranged with clubs and organisations on an individual basis. meaning the course or demonstration is taylored to the exact needs of your members, at a location and time that suits
Alternatively we also provide courses at pre determined venues with a much more prescribed content for individuals who would like to become more familiar with the techniques we have developed.
if none of these options fit we also offer one to one tuition, as the untimate solution to a personalised experience. this is available virtually and in person

VIDEOS THAT ARE CREATED SPECIFICALLY TO DEMONSTRATE OUR TECHNIQUES
We have exciting news...
we are now holding a stock of items for the fly tyer as well
It makes sense, as we use so many fantastic quality materials to build our flies, that we are sometimes in a position to offer these straight to the fly tyer...
Unbelievable quality
Every time !!!!!!
We have so much faith in our flies that if a fly does not live up to your expectations, it will be replaced no questions asked.
Our flies are tied here in the UK. A great amount of care is taken during the making of each individual fly.
Special techniques are used to reinforce fragile materials and each fly is varnished at the tie off point to combat unravelling.
Fish have teeth, and we understand that no fly will last forever no matter what we do. The added resistance that these flies offer, may just mean that a fly that caught the fish of a lifetime is still in a condition to be framed or mounted for lasting memories.
Competition anglers may also benefit from fewer fly changes offering an advantage.
